Dogecoin Foundation and MoonPay Announce $95K Donation to Dog Charity

The AKC Humane Fund received a donation of 1 million DOGE—equivalent to around $95,000—from the Dogecoin Foundation, its corporate branch House of Doge, and payment platform MoonPay. This move, made on Monday, allows for ongoing crypto donations through MoonPay’s infrastructure.

These funds will support pet shelters aiding domestic violence survivors, rescue efforts for stray dogs, and veterinary care for low-income families across the U.S. (Disclosure: MoonPay Ventures invests in Dastan, which owns an editorially independent Decrypt.)

House of Doge CEO Marco Margiotta described the campaign as a tangible expression of Dogecoin’s mission. “By facilitating Dogecoin donations to directly aid dogs, we bridge our community with impactful real-world change,” he noted in a statement.

MoonPay Commerce will continue processing future crypto gifts—be it DOGE or other assets—to benefit the AKC Humane Fund, marking a significant step toward broader crypto adoption. “Dogs inspire us to be our best selves. With Doge community support, they’re elevating crypto’s potential too,” said MoonPay President Keith Grossman. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with the AKC and Dogecoin Foundation in transforming DOGE into tangible benefits through MoonPay Commerce.”

Dogecoin remains the most notable meme coin, currently priced at $0.095 and ranking 10th by market cap. Originally a joke, it thrives on positivity, championing the “Do only good every day” mantra.

“Community and goodwill have always been Dogecoin’s core,” stated Dogecoin Foundation Director Tim Stebbing. “Backing dogs through the AKC Humane Fund aligns perfectly with this ethos, and we’re eager to see community involvement in this initiative.”
